Stress

Managing life’s stressors can feel overwhelming and impossible at times. Some days it can feel like everything is under control, while other days you may be sent over the edge with the slightest inconvenience. Without adequate stress management techniques, your mental and emotional health suffers and bleeds into other areas of your life.

In our counselling sessions we will explore your current coping strategies, and replace any harmful, non-conducive strategies with more helpful ones. It’s not uncommon to rely on drugs, alcohol, procrastination and avoidance to manage stressors, especially in situations where you feel you have little control, but these tactics do little to solve problems and often just creates more.

Some helpful and effective strategies you may learn in our sessions include breath work, mindfulness, assertive communication, conflict resolution, and tips for how to set boundaries. The goal is to increase your resilience so you have a greater capacity to deal with whatever life throws your way.
